Part 4: The Magic’s in the Planning

This is part four of our Startup Quick Start series for helping entrepreneurs launch their next startup.

Ever read those TechCrunch articles and think to yourself: “damn, how’d they get their idea to be so successful?”. Well, you’re not alone.

Fakestudies.com claims 9 in every 10 founders feel the same way. But there’s a way we can fix that. And it’s called P.L.A.N.N.I.N.G.

It’s the unsexy behind-the-scenes work that makes startup ideas pop. It’s also the venus flytrap system that helps you capture every. single. piece. of. feedback. 🌵

We’ll break it down for you:

P - Purchase a domain on godaddy.com
L - Build out a simple Landing Page (like this) that shares your why.
A - With your domain and landing page, start Analyzing leads that come in
N - You do this by starting a Newsletter/Email Collection system to track interest
N - Now that you’ve got the system in place, start Nudging some friends/family to signup
I - If you want deeper questions answered, Initiate a Survey and send it to your top fans
N - Don’t forget to take a break and Nurture the leads that come in. Ask them q’s, say hello.
G - With your co-founder or on your own, set and track OKR Goals to ensure the plan’s helpful

Homework:

After you’ve finished some of these steps, post a progress update on Kernal. An automated email will get sent to everyone that’s up-voted your startup idea to keep them in the loop.

So there you go. That’s your roadmap for today. Pick a couple or try to do them all. But at the end of the day, make sure you have a plan to get the job done.

The devil may be in the details, but you’ll be tempting Angel investors when you’ve got your plan in place. 😇
