π§βπ³ How to Share Half-Baked Startup Ideas
GM Friends,
Welcome back to the Kernal newsletter: your AC unit of fresh startup ideas that keeps your 9-5 boredom from overheating π₯΅
In this week's news: Funding winter's still chilly, Trump got a bad knock-knock joke from the feds and tech layoffs keep piling. Serena traded Tennis shoes for her Kernal idea VC fund. SoftBank's Vision Fund got cranked with a $23B loss. Starbucks is brewing up NFT plans. And Spotify's starting to sell live music tickets to fans (cya later Ticketmaster).
That's just the caramel drizzle, let's get to the fudge brownie.π

Big ups this week goes to Lauren FitzHugh for making our team's day with her email. Welcome to Kernal. Put your feet up, get cozy, and hold on. We're just getting this rocket started.
Want a newsletter shoutout? Tweet us someting you like (or hate) about Kernal and we'll reply in public. Anything's fair game.
β³οΈ How to Tee Up Half-Baked Startup Ideas
In kindergarten, we learned to tie our shoes. In Grade 5, Ms. Beasly taught us some french vocab. But never in our life has society taught us the wonders of presenting a half-baked startup idea.
It's a shame really. We've all shared the joy of dipping a half-baked cookie into some fine 2% milk. But it stopped there.
As fate would have it, you're subscribed to this newsletter. And lucky you can steal our framework to share half-baked startup ideas, instead of getting lost in a black hole of unending chrome tabs.
Rather than sharing facts, we're gonna drop a story. It doesn't belong to us, it actually comes from one of our users. Last week, one of you posted this startup idea titled "Entrepreneurs' DAO for EO/YPO" and it stopped us dead in our tracks.
It checks ALL the boxes for a half baked idea π€
- βοΈ Catchy title and compelling photo
- βοΈ High signal opportunity with data to back it up
- βοΈ Successful founder with 2 venture-backed exits serving it up
- βοΈ Extended an email intro offer for the right founder to chase the idea
- βοΈ Posted the concept on Kernal so it can be easily sent around for voting
Daniel Dubois isn't new to the startup world. He's a serial entrepreneur that's scored chats with global leaders like Prince William and Justin Trudeau to discuss opportunities in youth innovation. He's currently the Founder of Key, a proptech startup that just raised $11m last March, so he knows what he's doing when posting ideas like this.

Wanna know the best part about this story? He isn't hogging his precious startup idea. He's sharing it with the world to see it get built π
A quick skim of his background proves he's got lots on the go (plus a couple board roles). So to see him offer up a high conviction idea gets our team jazzed up.
This is how you share a half-baked startup idea that's tastier than any cookie and milk combo πͺ
And we look forward to seeing more ideas like this get posted and built on the platform. So... time starts now. Who's gonna claim his startup idea and take him up on that intro offer?
